Blog 1.5 A State Of Dreams It has been about 2 month, since I had first started my high school experience. And for only 2 month, it's been a journey to say the least. Since late September my experience has only grown, I've learned to find something interesting to learn in each subject, giving me that hunger needed to get the best education. As for the book I started to read in September, I am half way through it, and I don't want to dive into what the book is about, but more so dive into one concept of the book that I would love to talk about. In the book, it talks of a utopian society, one where only 100 humans live, 50 male and 50 female. the concept is....dreams.The idea to have your own personal dreams, goals, ambitions. In the book, these people were created close to perfection, all coming down to one imperfection. Dreams, the one thing they lack, except for one characters, this one character underst

The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, a novel discussing many themes and issues. But its main reoccurring theme is the idea of ethics and morality. seemingly enough the 10th grade sophomore curriculum of the Brentwood high school also explores those ideas, questioning and enforcing students to really dive deep into their own thought processes. To really form and stand by their own opinion of what they believe is right and wrong. In the case of the summer reading book of Henrietta lacks, it explores the idea of consent. Leaving students to question whether it was right for scientist to take, observe and experiment with Henriettas tissues without her consent. Especially seeing how with those tissues acquired, a good amount of scientific breakthroughs have been made and no profit was given to Henriettas family and relatives. And this is why I believe "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" was a good selection to start off sophomore year in the highschool. The book steers the s

We are all products of the environment we grew up in. This rings true when talking about everything a person believes in and knows like their perception of right and wrong, their morals and their perspective of life in general. And when talking about what one person believes is ethical doesn't always carry on to the next persons ideals. It all depends on circumstances for one to decide what is right and wrong. Now you have to look further into both their lives and analyze their circumstance. Person B the one who gave nothing was having money issues and desperately needed money to buy food for the family. Hellooo ooo ooo oo oooo my name is Moises Flores and this is my blog (: and I'll pretty much be writing about my highschool experience and all my thoughts that come along with it. So far the beginning of this school year has been really fun, I'm in my second year of the green machine marching band and yea that's pretty cool. I also auditioned for wind ensemble as a tenor saxophone and I got in.wind ensemble is the highest level band class in the highschool. Honestly this year seems pretty promising to me, I'll be trying to join a lot of clubs, especially anything related to music, like jazz bands, the musicals, anything that would improve my skills on my music and instrumentation. As for the classes that I'm taking this year, they all seem pretty easy and normal, probably global is the class that I'll be struggling with. A lot of people say that global is hard but I always come close to failing. AND THAT'S THE END OF MY FIRST BLOGGGGGGGGGGG.
